Every winter 100's of garters winter under my house and in two old root systems from trees long gone. The temps are warming up and they are everywhere! They go in and out a small crack in my front step. It's common to see dozens of them when I go out on the porch. When I pull in the driveway and walk up to the porch, the ground starts going in every direction. I have a few lizards so I know how to keep reptiles. Should I catch a few and set up a tank or two? I catch them all the time and let them go. Got all sizes, babies to a couple real nice ones. One is very pretty and bout the size of a quarter and 2ft long. Is it easy to sex them? Maybe I could try some breeding. What do you think?

PS. I also go to a spot that is full of ringnecks. Would be easy to catch many, but I've heard they are hartd to keep and impossible to breed.
