Esatern indigo, Lisa, finally lay 13/14 good eggs yesterday. Last year she produced 12/14. She had gone a week later than last year and it looked like a trip to the vet could be in the near future. Yesterday morning I took out nesting box and filled entire cage with moist paper towel, thinking she might need more space to stretch, flex, whatever. And I received a phone call from good friend, CD, asking how the eggs were coming. Who knows what may have been a factor? When I checked in early evening eggs were on the way. Lisa is a 2004 Dean Allesandrini hatchling. Mated with Little Charlie last November. He hatched out here in 2009. This was his first breeding season. Both snakes are no-red color phase. Past experiences with similar pairings have produced a mix of red and no-red phase hatchlings.
