Typically the first generation will have a spectrum of traits but if you select like kinds that are related you should get more of the same. The reason I say related is because if you are breeding wild caught animals that look similar their similarities may be caused by different genes. But if you breed like kinds that are related then I think almost certainly any similarities will be caused by the same genes. I do think it's good not to inbreed more than a few generations without adding new blood but two or three generations of inbreeding shouldn't hurt.
