I'm not familiar with this species and even if I were, I wouldn't feel confident about giving an opinion on sex. However, what I can tell you is I have two Malis that were given to me by a rescue - they were supposedly a m/f pair and both roughly 2.5 years of age (possibly true-ish based on size). The "female" turned out to be male, but didn't get his adult coloring for an additional two years. So you never know - some are just late bloomers.

If you got your uro from a reputable source, chances are it's the correct sex, though anyone can make a mistake. And the color may not come in for a while, or even at all - there are female-mimic males out there.
