It depends on how much you feed and the level of care you give them. Keep in mind they are rarely bred so for all we know, you can get them to breed in a year. With monitors, its usually size that dictates breeding, not age. There's a report of a pair of argus monitors breeding at about 6 months old and they are generally are larger than savannas.
