for me its went both ways but some do better in groups for breeding or a least few females to chose from i had a gecko that would never breed with a cage mate but if i keep him on his own for few weeks i drop females in like food for him he start mating with what ever i put in there funny they are like that i did this for few yrs and sold all my male geckos but him,,,,i think each reptile diffrent if your tryin to breed get a few of each sex you got better chance of breeding and if your trying to get lucky get one pair try them together for awhile and see
