A few black rat snakes seen recently...

I recently made a side trip to South Carolina to see if I could find some nice black rat snakes. I succeeded.

The first was this juvenile seen crossing a paved road close to midnight:



The next morning this 6 foot plus female was seen stretched out on an unpaved road:





This 4 and a half foot male was seen crossing later on that evening just after sunset:



The following morning this subadult (under 3 feet) female was seen crossing the same road as the large female from the day before:



I decided to call it quits, but not before making one last stop near the mountains and spotting this small, 3 foot female crossing an unpaved driveway:
