I failed to mention in the last post that those 12 days of freezing temps. were all in a row. Every winter we have 20 to 30 freezes with countless days under 50 degrees which is a RED FLAG for the two species of tortoises I work with.

The Hawks and Owls are another issue that i omitted mentioning in the above post. It requires an enclosure that has a wire mesh top as well as sides. The benefits of housing my tortoises outside has paid back in a healthy group of breeding Redfoots and Elongated Tortoises that by the way coexist great together.
Have a great weekend................Richard
