The Korean species was only separated from the main Elaphe schrencki species in 2002. Allegedly, it is simply the southern, lighter version of the Amur Rat Snake, with the same behavior.
Some hobbyists have said, however, that the Korean is more shy and less personable than a Russian (like most Rat snakes). Others imply that there is no discernable behavior difference.
If you have kept both species, please advise. Are Koreans just as bold, fearless & curious, or are they distinctly more shy?
