Again your comments are based on you not having any experince or knowledge of monitors, or reptiles in general.
I am sure at some point the soil will require being changed out. But that will be a while, most likely years.
The bugs, I am NOT a fan of that approach. Short term, its cool. Longterm its not. Some bugs will indeed over populate and cause stress to the monitors. Again In time. Particularly some of the bugs that come in with crickets.
About reptiles and in this case monitors. They without question use various methods to MARK they pocessions. Scent making is one and deficating is another.
To them is a comfort factor. It tells them its THEIRS. Its home.
In nature, most other individuals RESPECT marked territory. Not all, just most.
But then, in this case, its all about you, when in fact, you should be thinking of the monitors. Have a great day
