Posted by: rodneynboalich at Mon Oct 1 10:31:03 2012 [ Report Abuse ] [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by rodneynboalich ] i just got off the phone with the Subcommittee on Fisheries, Wildlife, Oceans and Insular Affairs. they are a subcommittee within the HNR ( house natural resources committee ). they have put in a formal request for hr511 to be referred to them. they feel there are some serious issues with the bill and also with CBO's analysis of the economic impact of the bill. with house judiciary committee dragging their feet and CBO dragging their feet as well the bill hasnt move forward as it should of. HNR hasnt heard back yet on their request. if it makes it to them they will be holding a public hearing. the person i spoke with was Harry Burroughs and he seemed like the kind of person we want on our side. i talked to him a little about the issue as a whole. he told me that they have being hearing a lot from the boa people. which i thought was odd. not that they shouldnt be hearing from the boa people. but why only them. why havnt they been hearing from the rest of us. if anyone chooses to call them, dont call in and complain about the bill. just let them know your a keeper of these animals and are concerned and appreciate their willingness to look into hr511.
