Hey Guys,

The latest taxonomic paper on the mainland rainbow boas makes no differentiation between "Brazilians" and "Peruvians." They are now considered, at least by the authors, as one species - Epicrates cenchria. Previously, Brazilians and Peruvians were different sub-species of E. cenchria, E. c. cenchria and E. c. gagei, respectively. If I remember correctly, the authors eliminated *all* subspecies of E. cenchria.

I'll see if I can find the actual paper, in case anyone is interested.

Thanks,
Ed
