Haha, yeah something got messed up with my post, I had a lot more written, let me try again...

I'm in the process of constructing a new cage for my adult Savannah monitor.
I have a base of 5'x 3' not sure yet on the height, but was thinking 4' high with anywhere from a 18" to 2' window on the front. ( I know this is on the smaller side, but I am a bit strapped for space, I do let her free roam when I'm home) I'm considering radiant heat panels from reptile basics as a main source of heat, however I was looking for something to heat the bottom under the substrate and I'm not sure if there is such a heater that would handle any substrate on top of it (and in this case a foot of 50/50 sand/soil mix. I was also entertaining the idea of making a perch with a heat pad built into it.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
