What most people do not realize about BRB's is they do not need to eat a whole lot. Once you get past a certain point, larger meals = more poop.
BRB's (and I believe most if not all snakes) are evolved to be opportunistic feeders. Eating volumes when food is plentiful and surviving very well when it's not so available. They may even have variable metabolic rates based on food intake. Often and large meals = hurry up and process. Few and smaller meals = utilize every scrap.
Just thinking out loud based on years of experience....
