Interesting how the striped andesiana have such a different pattern than this striped gaigeae I produced back in 2009. She's over 48" (120cm) long now, so I'm hoping she'll be big enough to breed this spring so I can try to figure out whether this is a heritable trait, or something caused by external factors such as incubation temperatures, as some have speculated. Since you say "genetic striped", I presume you have found the striped/spotted pattern to be a heritable trait in andesiana... and if I'm interpreting the file names of the images correctly, they represent a trio of adults and one of their offspring? What did the rest of the clutch look like?

Nate
