These are good cages for snakes that are of appropriate size for that cage. They are sturdy, they allow under-cage heat w/o having to prop the cage up and they allow you to access all inside corners easily.

If you need less ventilation (like for a boa) then you can cover some of the screen top with plastic wrap, aluminum foil or other suitable material.

While glass is heavy, it does have some benefits.

One thing I like is that you can make or buy fake rocks or other decor and attach them (four dabs of silicon sealant or four adhesive "velcro" dots) to the cage interior for visual enhancement. Very easy to remove if desired later (razor blade) w/o harming the glass.

I have one of the tall units. I used silicon to attach some Home Depot stone tile bits (small rectangles about 1/4 inch high) in a V-shape on opposite walls. This setup held a wood branch securely for a baby carpet python. When the snake grew out of the cage, I used a razor blade and easily removed the tile pieces.

The other thing I like about glass is that it is inert.
