I don't bother with the infared this or ceramic that. They just go into their tunnel if they want to sleep or go under their woodstacks. If you have deep substrate this would not be a issue. I always try to use the mininimal amount of electricity to make them thrive. By that I mean if they are thriving on one light bulb I do not add a second one. If they look like they could do better on two lightbulbs then I will add it. Cool spots are just as important as hotter spots with reptiles.
