A high percentage of females die in captivity once they start getting old enough to lay eggs. People don't know how ot make the soil deep enough or be in the right condition for them to lay eggs. Even people who have been keepign monitors for a long time will run into problems with this....with certain species. My cage is built from a cattle trough to hold the dirt.
