This one came in with very, very little warning. Apparently Wilson County, TX, which is adjacent to Bexar County (home of San Antonio) passed a law in November that bans all non-native venomous and the "big five". Texas already had a permitting system in place, but this did not stop the county. There was no warning about this, we just heard about it here. As far as I know Andrew Wyatt and USARK were unaware of it (this was while he was still President of USARK in November). It originally started out with talk of banning all non-indigenous, but apparently this is what they came up with. Talk of having pythonidae and boidae came up in early December.
