It's the habitat that over time has been the force behind the evolution of what is perfectly adapted to survive in the limitations of climate, food , cover and any number of specifics. The term intergrade is just language we use to help in our own limited ability to place the snake in scientific terms. That snake is still the perfect example of habitat specific survival.
