ok folks, id like to first say im not new to reptiles. ive been keeping and breeding reptiles for years. i bred eastern box's back in 97-99 and have been breeding snakes since then. i decided to pick up a redfoot hatchling back in september from a show i was vending at. the baby(chomper my kids call him) has eaten very well everyday since 2 weeks after i got him. first 2 weeks were sketchy.
he gets offered at any point and time, collard greens, baby spinach, raddichio, mixed lettuces, zoomed forest tort diet. sprinkled with reptomin every so often. also cuddle bone in cage at all times but never seen him show interest.
water dish to drink and soak changed everyday, temp of hot spot 90 degrees measured with infrared. hes active, eats and poops regularly. here is my problem. the tortoise has not gained a single gram of weight since i got him!!! he weighed in at 42 grams when i got him and he still weighs 42 grams. his weight will go up until he poops then right back to 42. i just dont know if i should be concerned or not. he seems to be growing just not gaining weight. any help would be appreciated adam jeffery ----- " a.k.a. farfrumugen " i dont care how bad my spelling or puctuation is as long as you can still smell what im stepping in.
