You must be kidding!
Go to Louisiana, they breed e-tonns of crawfish and catfish and sell them throughout the world. The crawfish season in La has just started, you should be able to get them for around $3 a lb shipped to your airport. They are available in California and Mexico from May- September, La season is Jan- July. They are also shipped from china in HUGE#'s. Very easy to find, very cheap, work great for many species of monitor.
