I didnt notice it at first due to some leaves that were also under there that and the lizard was not moving. It seemed quite torpid so i assumed it had been there a good while..probably brumating there as its been cool/cold as of late for the region( pasadena ca) In that my herd of cats also frequent this garage i felt i couldnt just leave him there and he seemed too cold to effectively relocate to a suitible spot so i set up a small tank with potting soil/local dirt mix for substrate and wood for hide spots and brought him indoors. Needless to say he perked up pretty quick once he warmed up... So my question is when would be the best time to release him? Its rather cold and rainy here and will probably so for the next few days and with the cats around i'd like him to have a decent chance to find a spot to ride out the winter. Or should i keep him indoors for a couple months then release him once it warmer? Or perhaps place the enclosure back in the garage where i found him but with the security of the cage to protect him from cats? Any thoughts?
