Zach: Being about 450 - 500 miles north of the Bay Area, our season in northwestern Oregon comes somewhat later for finding reptiles.
High temperatures from Tuesday through today have been 54, 54, 59, and about 59 or 60 today. Yesterday and today, the cloud cover burned off and we had some afternoon sunshine. So today, my reptile herp season 'officially' began. At six sites I visit between 2:15 and 4:27, I came across 3 NW Garter Snakes, one juv. Racer, one juv. S. All. Lizard, one juv. W. Fence Lizard, and 13 adult male Rubber Boas.
Keep in mind that our latitude here in northwestern Oregon is the same as for southern Minnesota and Maine.
