My 2011 male is probably already 5'. These snakes really grow fast. In the wild, there is selection pressure for diurnal snakes to grow fast. Simply put, they grow fast or get eaten by something else.
In the long run, it may be more cost effective to go from the tubs directly to the big cage. Hatchlings to yearlings do well in a tub within a rack because they feel more secure. After they hit around one year in age, they seem much more confident and do great in a big cage. Also, as they eat and grow, they really defecate a lot. They are active snakes and smear the tub with their crap. I think you are going to really enjoy your indigos.
