The only hydrids that appear in the wild are ater/hispidus/varius hybrids on Alcatraz Island or maybe Tiburon Island-can't remember which one. They were put there by the Seri Indians for a food source they do not naturally occur there. The hydridization started by breeders here in the US to get around the Endagered species act because in the US unlike in Europe a hydrid is ok to do with it as you like.
