sick chameleon?

We have had a veiled chameleon for about a month now. He eats well and his color looks good. Yesterday morning we noticed he was sleeping and thought maybe he was sick. He slept till about noon and then he perked up, ate and was alert and active throughout the rest of the day. Today he is sleeping again. Should we be concerned that he is sick or is this normal?
