I had a Leo a few years back which was a victim of impaction from the sand I was using as a substrate. I am planning on getting another Leo sometime in the future, and I do like the sand as a substrate for a couple of reasons, but of course I don't want to have the Impaction happen to another one of my Leo's, so here is the question.

Hope this isn't a no brainer that I should know, but do Leo's swallow sand only while hunting their prey on the sand? If I was to put Meal Worms in a escape proof dish I saw in the Pet Supply store, would the chances go away?

If so, is there a certain type of sand out there that someone would recomend?

Thanks...
