I just learned that Dr. Hobart Smith passed away quietly in his sleep yesterday morning at the age of 100. Considered by many as the godfather of modern Mexican herpetology, I'm sure he'll need no introduction here. The link below will take you to a nice summary of his career from just a few months ago.

I hope all is well, milkheads. It was a quiet year for me last season, and it stands to be another quiet season as I transition out of my final classroom semester and into my clinical rotations, which comprise the busiest and most challenging year of vet school. Learning a lot though and getting to see and write-up some pretty awesome herp cases. Thanks to all of you who have kept in touch, despite my aloofness. Cheers!
