I had tried to feed my new(first) ATB a live pink 5 days after I got him at the show. I left it in a shallow dish in the cage over night two nights in a row. he seemed very interested but did not eat. As I assumed the pink would soon die I froze it for later use. I Emailed LLL to ask advice as i got it from their booth. they told me to try feeding with forceps or put it in a small feeding box with the pink. Today I thawed out the pink and warmed it up in warm water. I showed it with long tweezers and Steve was very interested but would not take it. After dropping the mouse in the substrate and having to wash it off I realized this wasn't the method for me. I warmed the mouse back up to make it more thermally attractive(these snakes do have thermal pits right? lol) and put it in a small Tupperware I grab(in a nice way) Steve and lower him to the container and bam he hit the mouse before I knew what was going on and had it wrapped up and was putting his tiny little coils on two of my fingers. I had no idea what to do and i couldn't get him off my hand and was sort of in a panic. I didn't want to disturb him if he was going to eat but it seemed like he was trying to kill my fingers before he felt comfortable eating. I sat down in a nearby chair and started snapping pictures and video. I have over 15 minutes of unedited waiting on the inevitable. He eventually spit the mouse out and I was able to get him in the little plastic tub with it. 15 minutes later no more pinky. I'm happy I didn't stress him too bad during my mini freak out. video to follow
