I'm no expert,and certainly no "salt of the earth" in the Pituophis end of this hobby. I think the primary reason to start out with some degree of accuracy at square one,is because at some point the offspring will make their way into the hands of other prospective breeders,and while surprises down the road are not always a bad thing,it can cause some hard feelings when things don't turn out the way they were represented at the point of sale.
