Kansas in general is a pretty spectacular place for herping. The numbers and variety are mind-blowing.
The poorly flipped hillsides were relatively near Kansas City and not all that far from Topeka. In all fairness, the majority were road cuts, which are an "artificial" habitat that gets restructured every time the road department does any work, but still... I hate to see that.
