The pressure on the forest where the Jamaican Iguana still lives is mounting. There has been recent interest in developing an export market for charcoal in Jamaica and we must ensure that attention is heightened to protect the Hellshire forest from illegal tree cutting.

Please consider visiting the link below to support preserving the ancient dry tropical forests of the Hellshire Hills, Jamaica, the last refuge for one of Earth's 100 most endangered species – the Jamaican iguana. This area is also home to the endemic Jamaican Boa, the Jamaican Coney, and numerous plant species.

You can sign the petition below to send a message to Hon. Robert Pickersgill, Minister of Water, Land, Environment and Climate Change, about the importance of the site and the need for restrictions on charcoal burning and other illegal harvesting activities:
