I hope everyone is well and that the breeding season is going smoothly. With 20 or so clutches of eggs already laid and a bunch more pending, I've been "in the season" as of late and have snapped a few photos for those who have asked.



Here are a few Thomas Co., Nebraska locality Pale Milksnakes (Lampropeltis triangulum multistrata) from last year (2012) that are still hanging around here. It's a blast to see them grow and develop. This batch has been especially fun, being high-contrast and well-marked as a whole. They've grown considerably in the past year, with all of them taking unaltered, medium-sized, frozen/thawed pinky mice at this point.



Here's a smokin' male (#11). His white is immaculate and the thick, black borders on his red saddles makes him a stunner.

This female (#9) is an almost perfect match for him.





Female #8, on the other hand, had broad red saddles and a lot of color on her head.





This final female (#12), has some black stippling showing up on her sides, indicating that she might be an orange and gray looker as an adult. Some of the animals that develop this look can approach the attractiveness of "Blair's Phase" Gray Banded Kings (Lampropeltis alterna).
