Hey all. I have a Heterodon platirhinos that I rescued during my senior year of high school. For the past two years I have been feeding it locally caught southern toads. I was wandering if there is any one who breeds American/Southern/Spade foot Toads for feeder purposes yet.

Don't get me wrong, there is plenty enough toads around for me to feed it, I can catch upwards of twenty per night, but only use two per month of a reasonable size to keep my H. platirhinos well fed. I just rather wouldn't use any wild ones due to pesticides that one might pick up or something along those lines that may negatively affect my hognose.

If there is no breeders, that also sell at a reasonable price, does anyone have any tips for breeding them? I tried a year ago with a 20 gallon but only got 57 eggs out of it, and at the time I didn't have any pin heads or fruit flies for the baby toads.

Thanks for any help that you all can contribute to that.
