But Jason's input on the axanthic issue,raises a good point in the hypo discussion...is there enough of a visual distinction between the two strains of axanthic bulls to make combining them a worthwhile endeavor? I don't have enough experience with either form to say one way or the other.but I rarely see any distinction made by people offering axanthic gene carriers for sale,which I find rather puzzling.(?) In regards to the two forms of hypo we are discussing though,I would be willing to bet that either of us could tell Stillwater hypos from Trumbower hypos if,say half a dozen of each were placed side by side...this hypothetical scenario,combined with the fact that the two mutations occur on different alleles,is why I believe both morphs can be expressed simultaneously in one individual resulting in a different phenotype. I hope to see some updates from Jeremy Pierce as his animals mature,I'm very curious to see how they turn out!
