Pyros especially are more diurinal, that may have something to do with it. I also read somewhere that L. z. parviruba have been known to lay out and elicit bird attacks so as to follow the bird back to the nest and eat the young/eggs; I believe that was in one of the International Herpetological Symposium publications.
