i have to agree that they don't look "purple" to me either. lol i have seen a couple that do look burgundy in color. i do believe you are correct that it is a line bred trait though. the female conda was labeled as "purple", so that is what i have called her. this female has been out crossed. i'm curious to see what kind of hogs hatch. i think it's good to have her out crossed, but i'm wondering how that will effect the offspring eveen with a nice dark red male. the "purple" albino male that i have is a nice dark red.

i am fairly new to hognose, and still learning about them, colors, line breeding, and such. his were the darkest red that i could find. i have seen other people that post pics of really nice dark reds, but not for sale.

i'm open to feedback, experience, and ideas. i'm just trying to find some of the best quality stock that i can find
