Posted by: johnnic at Sat Oct 12 23:32:21 2013 [ Report Abuse ] [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by johnnic ] my understanding also is that a trade across state lines will require an interstate commerce permit. anything that has monetary value that is traded will require the permit. i ran this by my fws specialist lawyer buddy and that's also his understanding. only a pure gift does not require an interstate commerce permit. the last thing you want is to violate a federal law no matter how non sensical it may seem because fws likes nothing better than coming after the private hobbyist.
