This is the first time I have tried breeding the 4 indigos I have had since the summer of 2009.



At the beginning of October, I introduced my two males to one another to let them combat for about 15 minutes. Afterwards, I introduced each male to a respective female. The ladies did not seem interested...a lot of tail thrashing and jolting around by the girls. Fearful that there might be aggression, I separated them. A few days later, the females went into shed.



After they shed, I decided to try again. After combating the males, I reintroduced them to their respective females. The results were different this time. I turned off the lights to give them a little privacy and well....things happened. Both pairs locked up for about 10 hours. I introduced them again last night and they locked up for a second time. One pair has been together since 7am this morning!



I have been taking notes on everything from temperature to their behavior. I have gotten some fantastic advice and support from two good fiends....Steve Fuller and Vick Herrick.



I have heard that "three" times is the magic number with regards mating to getting eggs. I am going to keep my fingers crossed on them producing fertile clutches and not getting egg bound.



The first cross is between two snakes produced by Steve Fuller - "Stuckey" (male) X "Zoey" (female). Both of them are red throats.



The second cross is between "Lucky G" (Black phase male produced by Robert Harper and "Sally" (Red throat female produced by Vick Herrick.)
