I am currently taking a Principles of Biology class for my associates degree towards my Zoology degree. I am allowed to write one 10-12 page paper with five sources or 2 5-6 page papers with 3 sources each to give points towards a test grade to help bring my class grade up should I get a bad test grade.

I have decided to focus on snake genetics (allowed to choose a biology topic of choice that relates to course mats and we cover genetics in end of course). I would like to focus on Hognose snakes. Any species of Heterodon is preferred but any snake genus will do. I don't want to focus entirely on color genetics, I have already found loads of material on that for all sorts of snakes. If anyone has any good databases with journal back-issues on habitat and evolutionary genetics that would be great.

I am currently at a smaller college that doesn't have an enormous amount of info like UF or UNM or any other good herpetology college would. Most stuff in my college Library is on behavior.

Again, if any links to databases with evolutionary and habitat influenced genetics would be greatly appreciated. This isn't a paper for publication like a masters or doctorates level paper would be, just to help raise my class grade. Thanks for any help that anyone can provide on this.
