thanks FR Joseph Lazlo told me when I was a very young keeper, "keepum Lean there are no obese snakes in the wild. it took me a long time to get that that is done through temps/choices not food intake, but I got there he also told me to listen and the snakes will tell me what they want, took a lot but I got there too! they are not w/c, bought at various shows over the years. male is 15/16 inches and 7-8yrs old females are 28-30 inches and 4-5yrs old kept in tub racks 2-3inch substrate shredded wood, back heat, up to low 90s keep room at mid to high 70s females kept together year round male moves in feb.thru june I only take him away to get him eating regularly and give the females a break. also at this time(feb.thru june) I change up the tub, offering 2inch deep damp coco bedding area for nesting, with a piece of glass another couple inches of shredded wood on top of that kinda multilevel with a large humid area when not nesting my girls stay away from the humid areas and seem to prefer dry most of the time as do my males. they are fed usually twice a week sometimes once, during ovulation 3times a week, I feed them when they are hungry. the girls have double clutched for the past 2years and 1 tripled this last year. I force brumation on most of my collection (hogs, corns, kings, milks) for a 4to6 week break for me, no heat no light no food I am so bad (ftr I do feel bad about this cruel thing just not THAT bad ) usually mid dec. thru late jan. temps at this time average 60degrees I have no doubt my hogs would continue feeding thru this time but I don't feed them. come late jan. they act like my florida kings when I open the tubs and literally lunge for their food its truly terrifying.
