REPÚBLICA (Kathmandu, Nepal) 05 December 13 Snake charmer in police net with python

Kathmandu: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) of Nepal Police has arrested a man with an endangered python from Sinamangal area on Wednesday afternoon.

Snake charmer Balak Nath, 26, who originally hails from Rajasthan State of India, was caught while he was carrying an Asiatic Rock Python to entertain audience in Sinamangal area Wednesday afternoon, said police.

Balakh Nath along with the python was sent to Kathmandu District Forest Office immediately after his arrest for further action, said SP Pitambar Adhikari.

Police said Nath will be charged in line with the National Park and Wildlife Conservation Act 2029 BS and CITES Convention-1975.
