Posted by: Rextiles at Fri Jan 31 18:16:37 2014 [ Report Abuse ] [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by Rextiles ] Actually, the Evan's "Hypo" isn't a real Hypo. In fact, many years ago, it was just called a Hypo and everybody accepted that as a fact (including myself). Then I took it upon myself and did research on what Hypomelanism meant and determined that "Hypos" were in fact a type of Amelanistic morph, so then I started calling them Evan's Amels. Well, the Evan's part stuck with the community but so did the erroneous Hypo part, and now everybody calls them Evan's Hypos. Again, there is nothing Hypomelanistic about this morph as Hypomelanism is defined by having a reduction of melanin which should also still be present to some degree but these animals are completely devoid of all melanin thereby rendering them, by definition, as Amelanistic.
