For years I have avoided thermostats as I heard fire horror stories. I use rheostats to control the temps in my Vision cages with Exoterra Heat Wave Pads. With the great advances in electrical technology and built in safety features, I feel more comfortable giving one of the newer thermostat models a try. I want to control heat in 12 Vision cages from one unit. The Vivarium 300 caught my interest.

What brand and model do you recommend? Are the proportional thermostats the best? What safety features are the best?
