Aggressive Dumerils monitors?

I have two dumerils monitors. I would have to guess I either have a pair or two females because they live together. Recently they have been INCREDIBLY aggressive. The smaller of the two will actively attack you, but the other just hisses and doesn't appreciate company. any thoughts?
