I was about to buy a ratsnake from a local pet store today. They've had the snake for awhile and it has always fed fine and had no issues.
Today I noticed two spots of swelling under its top lips, directly underneath its eyes. The rest of the mouth looks perfect. The spots are dark, almost looking like mites or where the substrate has caught up in there. It is unusual because the spots are perfectly lined up under the eye, inside the upper lip. Could it be some kind of duct blockage? Any ideas? The snake is in shed, but appears otherwise healthy and mite free.
