I'm wondering if anyone can comment on an observation I've made with bites from Orthriophis taeniurus spp. I've been bitten many times over the years working with Taiwan and Vietnamese beauties and I've noticed a particular reaction to their bites relative to that of pythons of boids. My experience has been that the wounds created by their bites seem to bleed a bit more freely than similar wounds made by other constrictors. Also while the wounds heal without infection (again for me this is the case regardless of how bloody or macerated the tissue might be), I've noticed that they continue to leak blood well into the day following the bite. I don't have any clotting disorders and this effect appears to limited to this group of snakes. I searched online and I found nothing to corroborate this observation. Has anyone else had a similar experience?
