Certain "races" or localities of GTP'S due have a tendency to throw more red neonates than others. (Biaks, Yapens and other island forms). For a long time it was thought that Aru locality (race) type animals only produced yellow neonates. We now know this to not true.
Lineage of the producing parents can also sometimes be hard to track and with more and more people these days getting into GTP's and buying farm bred animals from importers, keeping track of actual localities (races) may completely fall apart.
One must remember that "locality" is a relative term when applied to GTP's since a lot of the time it refers to the city or port of export!! I'm like Greg Maxwell, I think "race" would suit GTP's better than locality. And speaking of Greg...
Greg Maxwell produced all sorts of different colored neonates in single clutches. Animals breed for color, pattern, size or whatever, soon blur the race or locality bloodlines.
I've been breeding and keeping these guys for quite a while. No matter what color the neonate, they all get my blood pumping! I hope that you enjoy your new "Chondros". Congrats on producing your first clutch of GTP neonates.
Andy
