Needs places to hide. Very surprised you have never found him in the moist hide. Mine spend 90% of their time in moist sphagnum, from babies to 7' adult. For the larger ones I use sterilite boxes full of sphagnum. It is best if the moist hide container (whatever you use) is not clear or even translucent. Should be solid color so the little snake feels hidden. After they reach 3 to 4 feet, they are much more confident, but little ones are pretty secretive and shy.
